FLAMINGO

Designed by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira in 1972, the Flamingo lamp is part of design history. Reduced to its essentials, its slender body and long, flexible neck echo the bird it's named for, a coherent line and unembellished backbone tracing a subtle curve around an intimate light. It dispenses with ornament, sitting unimposingly in any space. The halogen version, introduced in 1985, kept that same balance of space and volume. Functional as always, it is ungarnished and stripped back, working within any room without asking for attention.
