HYPOSTILA SYSTEM

Created in 1979 by Oscar Tusquets and Lluís Clotet with civil engineer Jesús Jiménez, the Hypostila System supports heavy loads with lightweight sections of extruded aluminium. Its minimal, modular profile spans up to 150cm between vertical supports, adapting to spaces of almost any size and shape. Made with Hydro, a global aluminium producer with expertise across the entire material process, the frame is 95% recycled aluminium, with one of the lowest carbon footprints in the world. It comes brushed and anodised in silver or black, with feet in cast aluminium. Nearly fifty years after its creation, the system remains in production, as adaptable to today's spaces as it was in 1979.
